WITHERSIN MAGAZINE PRESENTS:

Withersin’s Unkindness Anthology v1

(a collection of 13 dark, different and pleasantly sinister tales with a twist)

reviewed by Adam Armstrong

Take 13 authors with 13 tales and strain them through Withersin's unusual filter and what do you get: something interesting.

The stories run the gamut from inverted realities to a cthulhuesque western. The theme is the bizarre with a couple of gross-outs thrown in for good humor.

Overall I really enjoyed this little book. Anthologies from small presses are wonderful gifts that introduce us to authors that we wouldn't normally find on our own. Unkindness not only provides us with some good starting places it drops a few forks in the road for us to further explore. Unkindness also breathes a fresh breath while avoiding common cliché plots in short horror fiction. I will be impatiently awaiting the next volume.
