How in the world are they going to make a movie from this?

It’s 1985. Richard Nixon has changed the constitution and is still president. The cold war is about to heat up in a big way. Costume heroes are real and roam the streets protecting people from crime. Edward Blake, a.k.a. The Comedian, is murdered and other costumed heroes are being singled out. Something big is about to happen and there might not be anyone left to stop it.

This is phenomenal! The plot is so rich and multi-layered that it just defies the medium that it is presented in (which is probably why Time recognized it as one of the 100 best novels and the Hugo Award was changed just to accommodate it). With previews of the upcoming film bouncing all over the net, I thought it would be a good idea to pick up the book and see what it is all about. Now I say, piss on the movie. Though I’ll still be in line to watch it there is no way it can compare. Moore was right when he said Watchmen is something that is “unfilmable.” Read in one very long sitting, I found myself going back over different frames and rereading time and again.
