One of the best movies ever.

Grant Mazzy (Stephen McHattie) is a shock jock DJ whose career is dying. He finds himself on the radio in they tiny town of Pontypool in Ontario. On Valentine's Day the station starts getting reports of a violent riot outside of a doctor's office. Soon reports of people killing each other start coming in from all over town. Grant and his producer Sydney Brier (Lisa Houle) can't find any conformation on what is really happening. But stories are coming in of people repeating a word or phrase over and over until they become nonsense and then they attack those around them eating them to death. Soon we learn that the virus is being spread through the English language. As all ears around the world turn to Grant Mazzy he thinks that he found a cure but the bombs are already being dropped.

Beyond brilliant. McHattie dominates this movie and deserves all accolades that could possibly be handed out. The real terror that this movie produces is through the setting. The entire move takes place in only a few rooms and we never really see what is happening, we only hear it and watch as the radio crew reacts. A strange feeling of euphoria washes over me when I find something original such as this. Make sure you hang around after the credits for another treat.
