Long time fans of the
“Gothic Renaissance man with the Gypsy pirate band,” should be pleasantly
surprised with Voltaire’s newest release, Ooky Spooky, as he and his band stretch their music style and the limits
of “good taste” for an full-length album laughing about cannibalism, Star Wars buggery, zombie prostitutes,
marriage and, of course, death. The
music ventures to a new realm of more South Pacific and Latin sounds that
showcase the extensive talent of the musicians and Voltaire reveals a blue
comic streak in shockingly funny lyrics.
