What a lineup!

From museums of anatomical atrocities to killer books; aliens that look like 17 nails and killers that prefer hammers as their main method of dispatching victims; ghouls in France and hotels in the mountains for only certain guests.

What a great collection of stories from some of the best in the biz. A few of the most notable for me were: Perdido: A Fragment From A Work In Progress by Peter Straub (unfortunately unfinished), The Bird Catcher by S. P. Somtow, and Hammerhead by Richard Laymon. There were a few stories that didn’t really grab me but I find that there are almost always a few stories in a collection that aren’t liked by someone or are overshadowed by their companions.

A great horror collection by those who know it so well: 5 out of 5
