Makes you want a cigarette.
A plague is sweeping across the land, leaving
child in comas. Constantine is enlisted to help by his long time
friend/sidekick Chas. The duo travel to Los Angles to find that a demon named Beroul is creating a hell on earth and is holding the
children’s souls inside his body to keep Constantine from doing anything to him. Constantine makes a deal with Beroul
but brings in Mictlantecuhtli the Aztec death god to
help settle the score. Constantine slips out of everything betraying all those
involved as usual.
Published as a stand alone graphic novel, All
His Engines is quite good. We learn a little more about Constantine and Chas’s lives and relationship with each
other. The artwork and writing flow together in a perfect symphony. I love the
mixture of mythology and the battle between older gods and modern gods. Whether
it is an introduction or continuation for you it is definitely something worth
picking up.
