Yeah, I really didn’t get any of that.
Ellis tries to unite Cyber Force and Hunter Killer to save
the world. There is way too much talking and back story awkwardly shoved in
before the heroes decide to attack Morningstar at three different locations at
the same time. The battle starts against a couple of giant sentinels and then
there is a fifties type of cliffhanger. I’m not making this up. That is
basically what happens in this issue.
I’ve been through the whole process, every step, of comic
book creating from brainstorming to putting the inks in PS and coloring them. Its fun; but far from easy. And I hate to harp on the guys
doing this job but this issue was bad. Rocafort is
fantastic as usual, his attention to the minutest details shows so much love
for his craft, but the strange choice of watercolor type coloring doesn’t do
his art justice. The writing isn’t really terrible; its just boring. I know
what they were trying to do but it just didn’t work well.
Not commenting on the series, but this issue is a dud: 2 out
of 5 for the art.
