This seems oddly familiar.

James Harris is a computer programmer living in a future world where every action you take has to be scheduled. Any deviations from the schedule result in the police calling your cell phone and checking on you. James is downsized and has to take a job that seems a little fishy. Soon he learns that his cell might be more than just a way to communicate or do any of the other nonsense people do on cell phones.

This is basically an Orwellian Big Brother type of story that uses cell phones as the medium of spying versus televisions.  There isn’t really anything new here. There are a few hints but no real description of this future world we are trying to get a handle on. The scheduling was the most interesting but there was no elaboration or examples of what happens when protocol is not followed. The ending was just kind of tacked on or left unfinished I’m not really sure which.

The writing itself was fine but the story was lacking. If you’re a fan of Orwellian type stuff it’s only a dollar:
