Since the day I finished Blood and Rain, B.L. Morgan’s first John Dark storyline, I was hooked.  “Blood for the Masses” is an absolutely absorbing tale that continues to feed my addiction for the John Dark Series.   Once again we find John Dark, gritty anti-hero of the St. Louis underground, up to his armpits in blood and brawling.

In “Blood for the Masses”, John’s past has finally caught up with him.  Hired as a bodyguard for high end entertainers, his clients are kidnapped, he is beaten, and somehow a stray cat has taken over his apartment.  As usual things go from bad to unfriggin believable including a mystical portal spewing forth ungodly creatures in an underground tunnel in Vietnam. Now the ancient cult responsible has risen again, and is in his backyard; this time they’ve come for a sacrifice. John Dark finds himself embroiled in a web of mysticism, where time has no meaning.  The fine line between bad guys and people just trying to survive has been erased; and it has been redrawn in blood. John must battle for his life and the lives he has been hired to protect.  Unfortunately for his enemies, John Dark lives to battle. How can you go wrong with a plotline that involves strippers, Ancient Rome, Voodoo high priestesses, and Elder Gods?  B.L. Morgan has a way to keep the reader on their toes with a tight storyline flow and outstanding character development.

This book is an excellent read and I highly recommend the series.
