What do you do when a hyper-dimensional entity from the future wants to eat the Universe? If you’re Atomic Robo you try to capture it. Enlisting the aid of astronomer Carl Sagan, Robo travels to Peru and does just that, trapping the Spawn beyond the Stars in a big glass cube. The monster quickly frees itself, resorting to the old trick of morphing into a swarm of insects. Atomic Robo - who has a phobia about bugs – runs away, leaving it up to Carl Sagan to save the cosmos.

Atomic Robo was designed by famed inventor Nikola Tesla. He is a master of pseudoscientific jargon and is without a doubt the best dressed robot in comics, donning shorts, flannel shirt and a panama hat for his trip to Peru. Atomic Robo and the Shadow From Beyond Time is a snappily written series, with lots of jokes and visual gags thrown in (don’t miss the cameo by the robot gorilla). The creators’ influences include Mike Mignola, H.P. Lovecraft and Indiana Jones.
