Are you tired of the same old emo-friendly comic books? Are you sick of mindless wannabe Family Guy comedy? Well, then you should check out the Atomic Robo series. It provides laughs in just about every frame. While some of the jokes are childish and overdone, others are intellectual and razor sharp. Whatever kind of comedy you like they touch on it in the 26-or-so pages of story.

Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener team up to bring us an issue of this series that obviously means to spoof Captain America and Iron Man in equal parts, with just enough mixture of other superheroes to keep us going… “That’s original”. The art is anything but original, but that’s part of the magic.

If you’re looking for mental stimulation you may be looking in the wrong place, unless you really want an education on Raptors. There’s little to nothing to this story; good guy gets kidnapped by diabolical, perhaps mentally challenged, villain and has to escape in time to save the world from one of the dumbest plots in history.

I laughed out loud a couple of times and that’s not an easy thing to get me to do.
